


Saint Ignatius of Loyola is one of the saints of the Catholic Reformation of the 16th century. He was the founder of the Society of Jesus, known as the Jesuits, an order that played an important role in the Counter-Reformation. The saint, teacher of spiritual discernment, is also the patron saint of spiritual exercises, retreats and soldiers.
